The use of a Golden Temple image for financial good fortune belongs mainly to contemporary remedial Vastu and astrology practice, not to the central classical manuals of architecture. Yet the symbolism behind it is easy to understand. Sri Harmandir Sahib stands amid the Amrit Sarovar, carries the splendour of gold, and opens through four doors in a spirit of universal welcome.
